Rishworth Reserve

An area off Rishworth Street known as Rishworth Reserve that borders the Waiwhetū Stream has been developed as a native area to decrease effects of flooding.

Planting

Natives are planted and managed at the reserve. Regular weeding is a significant part of the management to ensure plants are able to grow effectively.

Mulch

Managing and suppressing weeds is helped by mulching.

Tracking and Trapping

We are continually tracking for pests such as rats and mustelids that will negatively impact the reserve.

We have a trapping regime and keep records of what is caught.
